POOL

explores the medium of photography as a means of  analyzing social constructions and functions. The inspiration  and focus of the concept are photos from my grandparents‘ photo archive, in which images accumulate that only become  „something“ through the contextualization of their viewer.  They are supplemented by further photos on site, taken by me  in the presence. The pool as such is a symbol of the middle class. It appears as a constant, as the center of events.

The concept tries to  understand how the petit bourgeoisie interacts – how it uses photography to share strong, authentic feelings. How does  photography shape our understanding of nostalgia?
